Just thought I’d put this up here and see what anyone has to say.

This is the S&M version of December 5th. I’m currently working on a poster with one of these headshots. The poster is inspired by Rihanna’s SnM song. I know, it sounds kind of cheesy, but I thought the lyrics were interesting especially given her history with a certain make singer. Anyway, thoughts are always welcomed.

Friday Sketches

I’ve been feeling myself lately and really pushing myself to sketch things up. I’m finally loosing the thought that everything I draw has to turn into a finished piece and am sketching just about anything that comes to mind. I know that used to hold me back from creating work as I wouldn’t have a subject and composition ready and so I wouldn’t know to where to start. I’ve come to realize that the more I sketch, the more I’ll be able to turn out something that can be easily turned into a finished piece.

So this Friday is the first of many Fridays that I’ll post a few pages of sketches that I’ve done over the week. Enjoy the show and if you can think of some cool stuff for me to work on for the next week, leave it in the comments. I’ll try to keep this as work safe as possible, but a bikini might make it’s way into the pages. Just saying.

Jessae Birthday Portrait

So not too long ago it was my good friend Jessae’s birthday. I’ve know her for some like 10 years now and decided to give her something that she’d been wanting for years. It wasn’t necessaryily a portrait she wanted, just some sort of work of mine to hang on her walls. I couldn’t think of a better subject to have hanging than a portrait.

Even though it’s a small image here, the actual print is a fairly large 20″x30″ printed on Kodak Lustre paper. I got to say that this RGB printing comes out really nice.

I’m pleased with how this came out and I think my friend liked it too, but I haven’t been over to her place to see if she hung it up or not. I do know that all of the rest of her friends were hella jealous though.

This portrait thing is pretty cool and I think I’m going to explore who and what else I can do with it.

Help Japan

Anyone that’s ever gotten to know me, knows that I have a soft spot the size of the moon for Japan and it’s culture. When I heard the news of what happened last Friday, I really didn’t know what to do. I wanted to help, but I wasn’t sure how. Within hours some of my favorite designers and illustrators had created works of art to donate the proceeds to relief and aid funds.

I wanted to do the same, but couldn’t think of anything to create. I donated some money, but it didn’t feel like enough. So I created this poster

I felt Baiken was a great choice for this poster. Not only did she just come great, but in the Guilty Gear game universe she’s from, she is actually Japanese. I couldn’t think of a better character to use.

This poster is currently available for pre-order through the S-Ranked Design Armada store. All proceeds will be doanted to Japanese relief and aid. If there is a certain aid you think I should donate to, please let me know.

Also, if you live in the NYC area and want to pick up your print instead of having it shipped please let me know and I will arrange a time and so that you won’t have to pay for shipping.

Even if you don’t order, please just help me spread the word. Japan has given us so much, it’s time we give back to them.
